Update following FIM Sidecar World Championship Round 7

In the scope of the 7th Round of the 2025 FIM Sidecar World Championship, and during the scrutineering on 2 October 2025, the engine of the Sidecar of Team Steinhausen Racing, together with other engines, was sealed to be prepared for extended technical checks after Race 2. After Race 1 and Race 2, this seal was checked and was found in place and unbroken.

During the Post-Race Technical Inspection on 5 October 2025, the Sidecar n°1 (Team Steinhausen Racing), which finished the Race 1 in the fourth position, and the Race 2 in the first position, was subjected to an engine technical control by the FIM Technical Director.

During these technical checks, the camshafts of the sidecar were checked and appeared to be modified compared to the homologated reference parts. For further investigation, one of the camshafts was sent by the FIM Technical Commission to the FIM appointed analysis institute for examination. The task for the Institute was to examine if any treatment or modifying of the surface and/or the material was performed on this camshaft.

After having examined the files presented, having heard the FIM Sidecar World Championship Technical Director and the representatives of the Team Steinhausen Racing.

The FIM Sidecar World Championship International Jury found Team Steinhausen Racing #1 machine as non-compliant with the 2025 FIM Sidecar World Championship Technical Regulations (Article 2.3.4).

Taking into consideration that the engine was sealed before the start of the event, and unsealed after Race 2, the International Jury decided on the disqualification of Team Steinhausen Racing from the results of the whole event (Free Practice 1 and 2, Qualifying Practice, Race 1 and Race 2).

After having been notified of the disqualification, Team Steinhausen Racing has lodged an appeal against the decision of the FIM International Jury to the International Court of Appeal, in accordance with Article 5 of the 2025 FIM Disciplinary Code.

The disqualification of Team Steinhausen Racing and the updated results of the two races of the round 7 of the 2025 FIM Sidecar World Championship stands are subject to the decision of the International Court of Appeal.

The FIM will provide further information in this matter in due time.
