Great participation in FIM CEV Repsol

Last April, the FIM CEV Repsol was given an overhaul, creating an all-new world title Moto3™ Junior World Championship category for junior riders, as well as a new European Championship format for the Moto2™ and Superbike categories. Also the Kawasaki Z Cup once again chose the prestigious FIM CEV Repsol as the setting for its six races.

With six of this season’s eight planned FIM CEV Repsol events already completed, the level of participation has been outstanding. To date one hundred and sixty riders have taken part in the twenty-nine races disputed among the four FIM CEV Repsol categories:  eight rounds in the case of the Moto3™ Junior World Championship and Moto2™ European Championship and Superbike European Championship categories, and five rounds in the Kawasaki Z Cup.

Additionally, fans and followers of the thirty-one nations represented on the FIM CEV Repsol grids have benefitted from ample television coverage. The interest shown by a large number of international TV broadcasters is hardly surprising, given the tremendous participation of riders from all corners of the globe in this open championship, with its unlimited places and prize money of more than six hundred thousand euros per season.

At the end of this year, there will have been more than two hundred hours of live racing broadcast by the Movistar MotoGP channel of Movistar+ (Spain), Energy (Spain), Sky (Italy), BT Sport (UK), Eurosport (France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Switzerland), Sport TV (Portugal), mitele.es (Spain) and the CEV Youtube channel (worldwide). In addition, after each event, all fans everywhere can enjoy the races again on the official championship YouTube channel.

It is not long now until the final results of the inaugural Moto3 ™Junior World Championship, the Moto2™ European Championship and the Superbike European Championship are decided. With just two events remaining at the classic Valencia and Jerez circuits, a large number of riders are expected to take the opportunity to race at two World Championship venues under the auspices of the renowned FIM CEV Repsol, crucible of future champions.
