Jason Crump was quick to acknowledge his debt to others after clinching a third FIM Speedway World Championship Grand Prix title.
The gutsy Australian bounced back from burning an arm - following a spill - whilst he was riding for Belle Vue against Ipswich last month in the Elite League.
After a skin graft during a four-hour operation, he battled through pain at the Italian Grand Prix before securing the eight points needed for glory in Poland .
The 34-year-old, champion in 2004 and 2006, told his official website: "Five weeks ago, I thought my season was over after my crash, but a fantastic team of people have got me back on track, and I have to thank them all.
"The injury never helped, but things came good in the end, and it was pretty special to win heat 13 (in Bydgoszcz) when I only needed a point.
"It's an awesome feeling to be world champion again."
