Zanotti is leading the race


The world-class racers took their form while the Hungarians achieved nice results at the HunGarian Baja’ Superspecial in Papa. The 10th HunGarian Baja kick start with the Superspecial and the formal launch ceremony yesterday (Friday) night. As it was expected, the best racers took the competition by storm. Alex Zanotti, who proved himself many times at the Dakar, has the lead ahead of Alessandro Ruoso in motorcycle category while Zbigniew Zychet is followed by Matthias Somfai in quad category. There were no big surprises in motorcycle category either. The best world-class racers finished in the first positions. Alex Zanotti, who had completed the Dakar many times before, was the fastest. “I finished in the second spot at the last year’s HunGarian Baja so I want to win this year. I did the first step towards this goal at the Superspecial.” – Zanotti, who beat Alessandro Ruoso, Michael Berti Mendez and Andrea Mayer, said. The Polish Zbigniew Zych finished in the first position in the quad category and much for the Hungarian spectators’ joy, Matthias Somfai was the second fastest in this category. “I trained a lot in extreme circumstances in a desert so the hot weather was hot a problem for me.
