X-Trial: The German connection


Seventeen year old Franz Kadlec – Beta will become apart of German history later this evening when he becomes the first ever rider from his country to compete in the FIM X-Trial World Championship, as round five of the 2015 series plays out in Wiener Neustadt. Just eight other German riders have taken part in what was previously known as the FIM Indoor Trial World Championship.
 
Teenager Kadlec will join Carsten Stranghoner, Andreas Lettenbichler, Horst Hoffmann, Hans Greiner, Andreas Kindsvogel, Markus Gorig, Bjorn Wisniewski and Jens Ter Jung in his national hall of fame as he takes his place alongside the seven fixed riders of the series. 
 
To date Stranghoner holds the German record in terms of the most appearances indoors at this level. He competed in eight events between 1998 and 2004. His highest finish in the championship coming in 2001 and 2004 when he twice finished seventh in the final standings. Carsten's best ever-individual result was also a seventh place, this coming in Koblenz back in 1998 at an event won by a certain Dougie Lampkin. Come the close of 2004 Stranghoner had amassed a total of sixty-nine points during his five campaigns indoors.
 
Tonight in Wiener Neustadt, Austria - Kadlec will take over the mantle, and begin to create his own piece of German history with many of his fans sure to make the trip over the border to witness this special occasion first hand.
