Ex FIM MotoGP rider and now WSB star Chris Vermeulen was an interested spectator alongside FIM World Supersport title contender Broc Parkes at the Trial GP of Andorra. Both of these road racers originate from Australia and have been friends since childhood when they did dirt track racing together. However now this high-speed duo are residents of Andorra and remain genuine off road fans. Living amongst this incredible Trial terrain, it is not difficult to understand why both Vermeulen and Parkes are Trial bike owners and partake in a spot of off road riding when they are away from the track proper. A very relaxed Vermeulen explained. “Both Broc and I have Trial bikes, but we spend most of our time trail riding than actual Trial riding as our level is not that good. We really enjoy off road riding as it's something very different to the type of racing we do. We are looking forward to watching the top guys today and seeing how it should be done. The stuff they do is simply amazing, especially on this type of terrain as it looks almost impossible to ride where they are meant to be going.” Both Parkes and Vermeulen were enjoying a well-earned break after back to back rounds in Italy and Spain, and before they head off to the Czech Republic for their next race on 10th July.
