Final 4 will take place this Saturday on the Speedway track of the Stal Klub in the Polish town of Rzeszow. This is a first for the FIM Long Track World Championship which has previously taken place on Grass and Long Track facilities only. The Rzeszow track is in the south eastern part of Poland, some 300 km from the capital, Warsaw. At 395m, it is the shortest of the 2013 season. Also, for the first time, a Long Track final is taking place in a stadium. This one can hold up to 12,000 fans! The Rzeszow Club is among the 10 clubs that make up the Polish Elite and its N° 1 is three-times FIM World Speedway Champion Nicki Pedersen. The wild card for this Final 4 is Stanislaw Burza. This will be a new challenge for the 36-year old Polish rider, several times Polish League champion with Tarnow and 2007 Champion of the English Elite with Coventry. Today he plays in the Polish second division with the team of Opole. The reserve riders, 18-year old girl rider Michaela Krupičková and her compatriot Karel Kadlec, are both Czech. So far, the race for the Championship title is too close to call. After the Final 3 in Marmande, Kylmäkorpi has the new European Champion Jannick De Jong snapping at his heels. The Dutch rider is just 7 points behind the Finn. The Speedway riders, present in force at these 2013 Grand Prix meetings, will have their chances on this Rzeszow track, among them Kylmäkorpi, Franc, Hall, Howe, Woodward... But those who like their tracks short and slippery will also be right in the action! This race will also be crucial for Martin Smolinski, back after sitting out Marmande because of an injury. He has lost 7 places on the leader board. We can look forward to a splendid Final on this home track of Stal Rzeszow whose fans are well known for generating a cracking atmosphere in the stadium!
