Tony Rich nominated for FIM Road Safety award

We reported earlier this year on this brilliant new campaign to sensitise drivers to look out for riders (and also cyclists). It started in the UK as an AA campaign. It is now spreading to other countries via FIA Region One which covers Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

FIM was delighted when the AA President Edmund King contacted us and proposed Tony Rich for the FIM award.

Tony came up with the original concept. As a professional driver he knows the importance of using all the mirrors when driving a car to keep a look out for vulnerable road users.

The little stickers can be attached to the side mirrors or placed inside the car as a reminder. Also, as some countries drive on the left, the stickers can be placed always with the bicycle one on the nearside of the car, the motorcycle one on the driver side. – So it works in all countries.

Sometimes the simplest ideas are the best. We also think if Tony ever decides to give up working for the AA he would have an equally brilliant future as a designer!
