Round three of the 2015 FIM X-Trial World Championship will play out later today in the little known French town of Pau later today. Located approximately two hundred kilometres south west of the city of Toulouse which sits on the edge of the Pyrenees.
Pau will be the eleventh different French town / city to host a round of the series. Toulouse started the twenty year plus French association with the series back in 1993. Since then the championship has stopped off at Marseille, Le Cannet, Paris (Bercy), Castelnau, Lievin, Bordeaux, Angers, Strasbourg and Nice over the next two decades.
Last weekend’s venue in Marseille has been the most visited city over this period, with France’s largest port having hosted no less than seventeen GP status events. To date and not surprisingly Toni Bou – Repsol Honda holds the most victories on French soil indoors, eight in total which is one more than Adam Raga – Gas Gas who has found France a happy hunting ground over many years.
Former FIM Indoor Trial World Champions, Marc Colomer and Dougie Lampkin are next on the French honours list with five wins apiece. With section maestro Bernard Estripeau once again in charge of creating the course, all is in place for an exciting third round of the 2015 FIM X-Trial World Championship tonight.
