The FIM Trial family gathers in Japan


Today will see the opening round of the 2015 FIM Trial World Championship take place in Japan with fifty-one riders from seven nations gathered to celebrate the start of the new season. Yesterday saw the riders from the three classes – 125cc, World Cup and World Pro assembled for the now traditional family photo call. Under brilliant sunshine and in front of the congregated media the riders came together as one big family ahead of the start of the first Grand Prix in 2015.
 
Sweden’sEddie Karlsson – Montesa was a noticeable absentee from the photo session, with the twenty year old still recovering from severe facial injuries sustained during a recent training accident. The Scandinavian sensation hopes to return to the series for the second round in the Czech Republic come late May. A total of eleven Japanese riders make up half of the World Pro class, with the host nation also having a strong representation in other two classes.
 
Very much at the head of the family reigning champion Toni Bou – Repsol Honda will begin his pursuit of a ninth straight crown today, as he rides out alongside his contrasting team mates Takahisa Fujinami and Jaime Busto. Today’ mark’s Busto’s debut in the top class, whilst Fujinami will begin his twentieth year competing amongst the World’s elite, to further reinforce the spectrum of talent that continues to exist with the FIM Trial family.
