The Board of Directors met for its first meeting under its new composition following the re-election of Mr Jorge VIEGAS as President for a second four-year term in office and the election of three Board Members, namely Ms Giedrė LESKAUSKIENĖ, Mr Giovanni COPIOLI and Mr Sébastien POIRIER during the 2022 General Assembly that was held on 2 December 2022 in Rimini (Italy).
On this occasion, the Board addressed several topics, in particular the following:
Executive Board: Mr Ignacio VERNEDA was re-appointed to the position of Deputy President; Mr Giovanni COPIOLI was appointed Vice-President and Mr Stephan CARAPIET was named representative of the Continental Unions (CONU).
Board of Directors Committees: The Board of Directors Committees will be chaired as follows:

Ethical Chamber Members: The following Ethical Chamber Members for the period 2023-2026 were appointed

- Mr Frantisek SCHULMANN (ACU) – LJI Member

In addition to Mrs Clotilde GALY (FRA) (term of office 2024) and Mr George Theodore AVVAKOUMIDES (RSA) (term of office 2023), Mr Afsar HOSSAIN (BAN) and Mr William KEARNS (AUS), both appointed for 2023-2026, complete the composition of the Ethical Chamber.
FIM-FIA Committee: The Board decided to create a joint FIM-FIA Committee which aim is to facilitate joint projects and initiatives on themes such as safety, sustainability, medical and women. The following composition was agreed on and will be submitted to the FIA for consideration:
- Chair: Mr Jan STOVICEK (ACCR President)
- Members: Mr Michal SIKORA (FIM Europe President), Mr Stephan CARAPIET (FIM Asia President), Ms Nita KORHONEN (FMN/CONU Liaison Director) and Mr Jean-Paul GOMBEAUD (Sports Director)
Commissions: The persons appointed by the Board for the positions of Commission Directors, Members and Experts for 2023-2026 will soon be published and circulated.
