A day before the opening of the Grand Prix Husaberg of Sweden, here are some news from the paddock…
Return of a legend
On the occasion of the Grand Prix Husaberg of Sweden, an Enduro legend in the years 1990-2000 is back. The seven-time Swedish World Champion Anders ERIKSSON (Yam) faces the tenors of the Enduro 1. Current leader of the category in the Swedish Championship, no doubt that the Yamaha rider will be a tough rival of MEO, REMES, etc… with his eternal mind of a champion.
Husaberg
On the occasion of its Grand Prix, the Swedish firm holds at twelve on Friday a press conference under the Husaberg canopy. Then, once on Friday afternoon, the press can test the new 2013 collection on the Training Area of Karlsborg while different importer of the brand will do the same on Saturday morning.
Divorce
Everything seemed to go for the best in Bordone Ferrari, but for some time a clash appeared between Thomas OLDRATI (I - KTM) and his team. Divorce is consumed and the E1 racer will participate at the end of Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship in the Italian team GP Motosport. What has really happened? Financial problems between the two sides discussed ... and the two concerned should tell us more in a few days.
Wedding
During the summer break, some riders took the opportunity to rest, others to improve ... and others to marry!! This was the case of Marko TARKKALA that, just after the Grand Prix Scorpion Exo of Italy, asked to Ilona NIKANTO to become his wife. Congratulations to both newlyweds!
Misfortune
Certainly, the years are similar for Marc BOURGEOIS (F - Yam). The French who had experienced three seasons’ galleys thought getting rid of bad luck in 2012, but bad luck has caught him back in Basque Country after a heavy fall. Private of the Portuguese and Italian races, the Yamaha pilot hoped to return to the Scandinavian tour... but bone edema still very painful has decided otherwise...
Injury
Moreover Marc BOURGEOIS (F - Yam), the official HVA Roman DUMONTIER (F) is found also in the "hospital" for a week after a sprained acromioclavicular. For its part, the French Xavier DE SOULTRAIT (Yam) will not be present due to an injury in training. Finally the Swede Calle SJOO (HM Honda) saw a white season due to a fractured vertebral disc. Also big thinking to Dario AGRATI, the photographer best known of the Enduro is not present due to health problems. Wish them a good and speedy recovery.
JOLY
We left Jérémy JOLY (F - Yam) on Saturday in Italy with three fractured metatarsals. The Yamaha rider has fully recovered from that nasty injury and is present in Sweden, ready to resume his role of spoilsport in E1.
Absence
The team Kawasaki Moto Pulsion and its pilots Nicolas DEPARROIS (F) and Julien GAUTHIER (F) will not be part of this Grand Prix Husaberg of Sweden. A surprising decision of the team manager Fred COLLIGNON who has preferred to send her two foals on Aveyronnaise Classic, a national event outside the French National Championship.
Track
Anders Eriksson (S - Yam) gave us his first impressions of the Swedish course: "The course should include some muddy passages due to the heavy rain but it will not involve great difficulties. There will be no big “impossible” climbs but jumps over the canal should be quite impressive. On the Special side, the race should be played in the Enduro Test. This special will be more than 11 minutes and many drivers could lose big. The Xtreme Test, meanwhile, will be spectacular but do not present great difficulties while Cross Test, which should be timed around 6 minutes, is very pleasant.”
KTM Super Test
The now traditional KTM Super Test will be held on Friday evening near Lake Vattern between the ramparts of the city's military of Karlsborg from 18:00. It will see 115 riders entered to compete in duels.
Balloon
Wednesday morning at 5:30, a group of eight people consisting of Robert SVENSSON (Motorcycle Club President), Patricia ENEROTH (SVEMO), Pedro MARIANO (FIM), Kent KARLSSON (Multiple World Champion), Stefan HOLM (Organizer), Per LENNERMAN (Jury Member) and Alain and Bastien BLANCHARD (ABC Communication) had the opportunity to do a baptism air Balloon. Guaranteed thrills, participants took eyeful with beautiful scenery and optimum conditions.
