The International Foundation for Motorcycling (IFM) Board, which was convened at the IFM Headquarters in Mies (Switzerland) on 7 May 2026, addressed several topics, in particular the following :
Finance : The Board approved the 2025 financial statements that will be submitted to the Swiss Foundation Supervisory Authority. In addition, BDO Ltd was re-appointed as external auditor for the 2026 financial statements.
Activities in 2025 : The Board also approved the 2025 activities report, which highlighted the main programmes and initiatives supported by the Foundation in 2025 such as :
- Increasing women’s participation and leadership in motorcycling (financial support for female riders, Women’s MXGP Academy, Women’s Speedway Academy, etc.),
- Touring and Leisure activities (53 touring events across 3 continents, Advantage Card, etc.),
- Rider safety (anti-doping education, etc.),
- Road safety campaigns (European campaign « Learn – Ride – Enjoy – Repeat », etc.),
- Education and leadership development (Future Leaders Programme, Instructor Certificate Programme),
- Sustainability and environmental actions (Ride Green et KiSS programme, etc.),
- Preservation of motorcycling heritage with the opening of the Racing Motorcycle Museum (RMM).
Racing Motorcycle Museum (RMM) : Since its opening mid-February 2026, the RMM has hosted numerous events, including industry collaborations, school visits, and motorcycle gatherings. One of the highlights was the Meet et Greet with Mr Kevin Schwantz, 1993 FIM 500cc Grand Prix World Champion, on 5 May 2026. Furthermore, a progress report including the visitors’ number, the promotional actions and the Paddock Café activities was also shared with the Board.
2026 activities and donations : Discussions related to the activities which will be supported throughout 2026 were held. The Foundation will mainly focus on motorcycling legacy, with the promotion and development of the RMM. In addition, the Foundation will also support and encourage the participation of women in the 2026 FIM Trial des Nations, taking place on 26 September 2026 in Arteixo (Spain) by making financial subsidies available to FIM-affiliated National Federations (FMNs) registering women riders for this FIM event. The IFM will credit to FMNs EUR 150 per female rider entry.
Fundraising activities : A presentation related to fundraising initiatives was shared with the Foundation Board. A focus was made on fundraising activation initiatives and projects to strengthen the Foundation’s mission.
