The Beginning of Suzuka 4 Hours Race!

On July 14th 2015, Synergy Force MORIWAKI Club project started the preparations for the Suzuka 4H Race with test sessions on July 14 & 15.

Continuing from last year, Moriwaki Engineering are joined with Synergy Force Japan Co., LTD, and many other sponsors to compete in the 2015 Suzuka 4 Hours Race.

On Tuesday July 14th, the Team entered a test session with Melissa Paris and Shelina Moreda, our 2 female riders from the USA planned to join the Team to prepare for the the Suzuka 4H race. Unfortunately, Melissa had to make a last minute change in her schedule and was forced to withdraw from the test session. With extra ‘seat’ time now available, Shelina was to take the opportunity as only rider to work closely with the team, testing the Moriwaki prepared Honda CBR600RR 4 Hours Race Edition on the Suzuka Circuit.

The first day’s practice session started with hot and sunny temperatures reaching 28°C and track temperatures of 50°C, just like the real race conditions. Without any major issues, Melissa was able to finish the sessions very smooth while preparing the bike more towards finding the race setting for further simulations. During briefings, the Moriwaki Team Mechanics listened to Shelina’s impressions and made the necessary adjustments to the Moriwaki tuned CBR 600RR. The advice of the very experienced Moriwaki Team enabled Shelina to use the set-ups and improve on her the lap times.

Wednesday’s weather provided another perfect day for testing and gave the Synergy Force MORIWAKI Club a chance to simulate race set-ups. During the 50 minutes practice sessions and with much traffic everywhere on the track, Shelina and the Team used their track time to their best, knowing that it would the last opportunity; nevertheless, Shelina and the Team continued to work hard on her lap times by showing consistency in development and finding the best bike setup to suit both her and Melissa’s riding style.

The 2015 Suzuka 4 Hours Race will finally begin next week. This race is regarded as a very competitive and very tough race for riders, their mechanics and supporters. Only one set of tyres can be used for the duration of the race. We, Synergy Force MORIWAKI Club, Shelina Moreda, and Melissa Paris will be as one Team to be fighting for a good race result.

Shelina Moreda:

First of all I am very happy to be back to Suzuka with Moriwaki and Synergy Force.

For today's test, my goal was to get back down to my best laptimes from last years’ race as quickly as possible. During these two days, the test sessions went smooth and we were also able to look to the right direction for good race settings. The bike set by Moriwaki is just perfect and it makes me want to push more to the limits. The team made a fantastic job so all I need is focus for next week is to just cut down the times as fast as possible. Lastly, I would like to thank Moriwaki and Synergy Force for letting me have this opportunity again this year.

Midori Moriwaki:

First of all I would like to thank our main sponsor Synergy Force Japan Co., LTD. and many other sponsors for supporting this project. Today, I was happy to see Shelina Moreda’s practice session and just like last year, she has a steady pace and I am already looking forward for the race. It was a little unfortunate for Melissa, however we will be able to see her run as well next week. We are hoping to give a boost to “Women in Motorsports” project as a whole team.

This has been a big step forward by for the Synergy Force MORIWAKI Club. With our team in bond and giving full support to Shelina and Melissa, the Team will be aiming for the upper positions in the Suzuka 4 Hours Race. We hope you will follow and support the Team during the practice and race proceedings with the Synergy Force MORIWAKI Club and we wish good luck and success to Melissa Paris and Shelina Moreda.
