Team Kawasaki CLS ready for the US trip

As all the top teams involved in the FIM Motocross World Championship, Kawasaki CLS is already prepared for the US trip, a few weeks prior the sixth round of the series in Glen Helen.

For most of the riders it will be like a dream to race in the USA, especially on such a famous track as Glen Helen in California. Even if this race was not scheduled in the first issue of the calendar, the teams had to find solutions to go there; for Kawasaki CLS it was much easier than for any other team due to their strong relationship with Pro Circuit. Based in Corona, not far from Glen Helen, the American company will provide them the best support.

“For sure we’ll go there in pretty good conditions, as Mitch Payton will give us all his support. We’ll just fly with some parts, but the bikes and all the logistic will come directly from Pro Circuit so it will be easier for us. It’s also a great opportunity for all our staff and the riders to meet Mitch and his crew; we had meetings with him during the Motocross of Nations in Italy, but we’ll have more time to talk and work together in the US,” explained Jean Jacques Luisetti, the team owner who got extra budget from some of his partners for this trip.

“Our budgets were finalized when Youthstream announced that USA will replace Great Britain, and we had to find solutions to cover the expenses. Luckily some of our partners including Kawasaki were able to provide us with more support; for sure the fact that this race takes place on one of the most prestigious American tracks was a great argument to our requests. All fully understand that going to the US gives a stronger value to the World Championship, and it’s easy to understand that our riders are more motivated than ever to race Glen Helen. Both Steven and Jeremy will have the opportunity to go there a few days before the race, and they will get all the facilities to practice and train in California,” he added.

Considered as one of the most famous teams in the USA with a long series of MX2 titles, Pro Circuit Kawasaki dominated both the Lites 2010 Supercross championships with Christophe Pourcel and Jake Weimer. So racing on the American soil under the PC banner will give more pressure to the CLS boys.

“Glen Helen will be like a home race for us, as it’s the closest track to the Pro Circuit workshop. We’ll have more pressure than usual, but we’ll do our best there as always. Pressure can be positive, and thanks to the support that Mitch gives us we’ll come to this race in the best conditions. In our staff Harry Nolte and Jeremy Van Horebeek regularly go to the US, but for most of the team it will be their first visit in this country and we’re all excited about it,” ended the CLS boss who will race two “home GP’s” in a row with the French round scheduled just a week later in Saint Jean d’Angely.
