For the second year in a row, Team DGSPORT will participate at the FIM Endurance World Championship in the Superstock category, this thanks to our title sponsor : Herock Workwear. Given the very positive feedback that came from being implicated in the Team, the Belgian manufacturer of working clothes and professional security has renewed the partnership.
Laurent Van Laere, Marketing manager Herock :
« Though the initial objective of this partnership remains the consolidation of our brand image on the Benelux market, we will also try to reach new markets such as France and Germany, which are very important in view of our European development ».
Big news for the Team is the brand new partnership with Pirelli Moto Racing Dept. « We are very happy to be able to work with an organisation such as DGSPORT and their Team, that has already proven to be one of the top teams in the Superstock category. We are convinced that 2012 is a promising season, which will be filled with lots of successes. »
So the Team will use the tyres made in Milan. Products that are developed thanks to many years of experience in the World Superbike Championship. We are counting on the current development of the 17 inch, which will be mandatory in 2013 in World Superbike, to support our performances in endurance.
Olivier Aerts, Team manager :
« Pirelli has a very precious expertise in both World Championships Superbike and Endurance, and such a collaboration is ideal now that our team is entering its second year in this championship and having the title as our goal. We are very impatient to see the results of our R1 on track, equipped with those new Pirelli’s ».
The Team will exist out of Didier Van Keymeulen, winner of the FIM Superstock 1000 championship in 2005, already on a Yamaha R1. He will be reinforced by Gianluca Vizziello, specialist in the World Supersport Championship, and by Alex Cudlin, winner of the FIM Endurance World Cup in 2010. They will be assisted by Raymond Schouten, Dutch vice-champion Superbike, who will remain in the team but will be back-up rider for the Bol d’Or on 14 and 15 April, as he got injured during the winter.
Our three riders will be present at the pre-Bol tests on 22 and 23 March and until then, our mechanics will work hard to make them the best motorcycles possible.
