Rizla Suzuki team boss Paul Denning has revealed Toni Elias has approached the Japanese manufacturer regarding a possible ride in the 2010 FIM MotoGP World Championship campaign.
Elias, who currently plies his trade for Gresini Honda, met with Denning over the weekend of the British Grand Prix at Donington Park, where the Italian led the race in wet conditions before crashing out.
Elias' future prospects look bleak with Marco Simoncelli and Marco Melandri expected to be Gresini Honda's rider pairing for next season, and the 26-year-old is keen to get a chance on Suzuki's GSV-R next year.
"Toni came to see us and to ask what we're doing and to express his interest," Denning told www.motorcyclenews.com.
"I was very interested to hear what he had to say."
Elias has managed one MotoGP victory in five seasons in the premier class, achieved at Estoril in 2006.
