Supermoto World Championship back in Italy

LATINA (Italy) 10 July, 2013 - After the outstanding Grand Prix of Estonia which took place in Kuressaare during the last week-end of June,  the FIM Supermoto World Championship, after only one week off, is back in Italy for the fifth Grand Prix of the season which takes place in the International Circuit of Sagittario, Latina.

Sagittario’s  track already hosted four time  the FIM Supermoto World Championship, three time in  a row in 2004, 2005, 2006 where in the two first years Thierry Van Den Bosch took the Grand Prix of Europe honors, after him Simone Girolami, now SHR team coordinator, won in S1 class and in 2007 when Thomas Chareyre left Latina victorious. Many expectations have been generated around this summer event because it will be celebrated at Saturday night under the floodlights.

S1

SHR TM Mauno Hermunen will race in Latina with comfortable 200 points, the maximum he could get this season so he will give his best once again to go 1-1 and add one more overall win in his 2013 records.

TM Racing Factory Team Thomas Chareyre is travelling to Italy with a fracture at V metacarpal bone in his left hand and this Saturday he will ride safe to gain some important points, the 2012 Supermoto World Champion also in Estonia tried to do his best to battle with Mauno Hermunen.

L30 Racing HONDA Ivan Lazzarini is currently third in the Overall Standings with 142 points, he always obtained very good results in this track and he’ll do his best to finish on the podium in front of his country home’s public.

Only two point behind the SM Italian Champion Fast Wheels APRILIA Adrien Chareyre recently admitted that he feel strong than ever and his goal is to reach the podium every week-end and win some Grand Prix.

Fifth in the FIM Supermoto World Championship with 127 points the French Luc1 Owatrol HONDA Sylvain Bydart that after a very good start of the season missed the podium in the last races due to some mistakes so he’ll do his best to emulate his Capua results and finish on the podium to increase his advantage.

Only Motor HONDA Christian Ravaglia is one of the favourite to battle this Saturday for the top five positions, Shr TM Petr Vorlicek will not take part at the Latina Grand Prix due to the fracture at his collarbone.

Looking at YAMAHA Team Blot Aurelien Grelier progress in his S1 rookie season the battle for the top five seems to be closer than ever. Brt SUZUKI Andrea Occhini is just two points behind him, the italian rider is recovering from the pains at his shoulder due to one crash right here in Latina in May during the International Series Supermoto, after this crash he could only race and not train himself, however he feels confident with  his new Michelin tyres and he’ll do his best this Saturday night in his country soil. Tds HONDA Uros Nastran complete the top ten.
