Strasbourg will host its first ever FIM X-Trial World Championship in less than twenty-four hours time, with the eight permanent riders already on route to the principal city of the Alsace region in eastern France. Inside the Zenith of Strasbourg arena, section maestro Bernard Estripeau and his team have been working hard to create a course fit for the initial encounter of the 2012 series. Previously the city with a population of around half a million people hosted a round of the 1997 European Trial Championship, which was won by Gabriel Reyes - Montesa.
Over the coming three months France will play an important role in the 2012 FIM X-Trial World Championship, with the series due to visit Marseille, Paris and finally Nice for the FIM X-Trial des Nations in early April. With live TV coverage of the opening round on Motors TV and FIM-TV.COM all eyes will be firmly fixed on Strasbourg to discover if any of the challengers can dispose King Toni Bou - Montesa from his throne. Qualification over the initial five sections starts at 17.00hrs (local time) with the Trial itself that will include seven observed hazards and one dual lane race going live at 21.00hrs (local time).
