SportPlus renews FreeStyle Motocross agreement

The original tie-up dates back to 2006, when the FIM FreeStyle Motocross World Championship was created by the FIM and IFMXF, who became SportPlus in 2010. The long and strong collaboration has seen the NIGHT of the JUMPs, as the series is now marketed, become the leading championship within this particular category.

The NIGHT of the JUMPs is the oldest and largest international Freestyle MX series in the World and is active in more than twenty-one countries on four continents. NIGHT of the JUMPs offers a unique mixture, it combines international top-class sport with classical show elements such as pyrotechnics and lighting technology. Since its debut in 2001 (Riesa / Germany) over three hundred NIGHT of the JUMPs events have been delivered to over three million enthusiastic fans.

NIGHT of the JUMPs is a widely recognised TV event and is broadcast in over one hundred and fifty countries with a total on air time of more than five hundred hours each year. Beside this, fans throughout the World can find multiple online platforms to follow their favourite series, with more than a quarter of a million Friends on Facebook and more than six million views on YouTube annually.

Commenting on the signing of this agreement FIM President Jorge Viegas explained: “After some challenging years the FIM is proud to announce that the FIM and SportPlus are joining forces again to promote the championship with an ambitious calendar comprising of a minimum of ten events. We have also agreed that we will try to take the championship continental and will work together to establish a grassroots training camp.”
