Simon tops time

Julian Simon was the quickest rider on the opening day of the FIM 125cc World Championship unofficial test at Estoril.

The Aprilia rider set a best time of one minute 45.864 seconds ahead of Sandro Cortese's Derbi and Bradley Smith (Aprilia) in Portugal.

Pol Espargaro (Derbi), Sergio Gadea (Aprilia) and Stefan Bradl (Aprilia) were the next three quickest riders.

Joan Olive (Derbi), Danny Webb (Aprilia), Lorenzo Savadori (Aprilia) and Scott Redding (Aprilia) rounded out the top 10.
