It was bright and warm for the start of the 16 lap race on Sunday.

As the lights went out it was Markus Schlosser and Luca Schmidt who got the lead from Harry Payne and Kevin Rousseau, Tim Reeves and Mark Wilkes got a great start and slotted into third, Sam and Tom Christie were fending off Bennie Streuer and Kevin Kolsch. Next up was Todd Ellis and Emmanuelle Clement, with Pekka Paivarinta and Adam Christie next. Ted and Vincent Peugeot were next with Lukas Wyssen and Ema Salmon. Patrick Werkstetter and Valentin Pirat was fending off Paul Leglise and Marjorie Cescutti who in turn were fending off Rupert Archer and Thomas Hofer and Rob Biggs and Ferry Segers.
Next up was Markus Venus and Ondrej Sedlacek who had Kevin Cable and Charlie Richardson right on their tail. Claude and Cyril Vinet were next. Raymond Leijdekkers and Sarissa Ter Steeg had Rogier
Weekers and Marcel Fries with them, but they were to spin off track to rejoin in last place behind Philippe Gallerne and Florian Colombin.
Claude and Cyril Vinet were to DNF on lap one, a bad weekend for them.
Lap two saw changes all through the field. At the front Streuer and Kolsch had moved up to second with Reeves and Wilkes right on their tail, Ellis and Clement had moved up to fifth just behind Payne and Rousseau who made a small mistake dropping them down to fourth, the Christie Brothers had moved up too with Paivarinta and Christie right with them.
Wyssen and Salmon were to DNF on lap two when Wyssen lost his passenger. Salmon was taken to the medical centre.
By lap three Payne and Rousseau had moved up to third and giving chase to Streuer and Kolsch who in turn were trying to catch Schlosser and Schmidt who were starting to make a good gap from the rest of the field. Reeves and Wilkes were back into fourth but had the Christie Brothers breathing down their neck, who had Ellis and Clement right with them; Paivarinta and Christie were keeping with this group too.
A big change on lap four, with Schlosser/Schmidt away and Streuer/Kolsch second but with Payne and Rousseau catching fast, Reeves and Wilkes were way out wide in the complex which let the Christie
Brothers, Ellis and Clement, Paivarinta and Christie through, Reeves/Wilkes were having braking issues but continued on.
As the race continued there were some great battles throughout the field, The Christie Brothers were fighting hard with Ellis/Clement and Paivarinta/Christie. Archer/Hofer and Biggs/Segers and Leglise/Cescutti. Also Cable/Richardson, Venus/Sedlacek.
Lap nine saw Reeves and Wilkes pull into pit lane their race was run, they had no brakes. Lap ten, Werkstetter/Pirat had a black flag with orange disc shown to them, they retired too.
Schlosser and Schmidt were out in front but Payne and Rousseau were on the move and catching, Streuer and Kolsch were in a good third. The Christie Brothers had broken free from Ellis and Clement who were having a right battle with Paivarinta and Christie.
By the end of the race a delighted Schlosser and Schmidt took the race win, but only just as Payne and Rousseau caught really fast towards the end, they were only 0.095 off Schlosser/Schmidt at the line. A delighted Streuer and Kolsch took a well-deserved third place, to the delight of the local fans.
The Christie Brothers took a good safe fourth; they broke free from the Ellis/ Paivarinta battle which raged on throughout the whole race, it was Ellis and Clement who took the honors from Paivarinta and Christie.
The father and son team, Ted and Vincent took a good seventh place, but it was a lonely race for them.
Archer and Hofer managed to break clear from Leglise and Cescutti for a good eighth place, Leglise/Cescutti took ninth.
Biggs and Segers rounded off the top ten, a good result for them.
Cable and Richardson were still battling with Venus and Sedlacek. It was Cable and Richardson who came out on top of this battle, only by 0.201 though. Both teams were pleased with how the race went for them.
One lap down was Weekers and Fries who recovered from their spin at the start of the race, they took thirteenth place.
Two laps down, fourteenth place went to Leijdekkers and Ter Steeg with Gallerne and Colombin fifteenth place.
The next round will be in October, that will be in Oschersleben, Germany.
