Sand Races World Cup: calling all sand racers!


The all-new FIM Sand Races World Cup kicks off next month and there is still time to register for the full series, although any interested riders will need to act quickly as entries for the opening event – the iconic Enduropale du Touquet – close on 9 January 2023 for foreign riders - so in just a few days’ time.

With classes for solos and quads, the three-round competition will take sand racing to the next level with a combination of beach and closed courses on two continents.

Already the series has attracted some well recognised names in sand racing with the solo line up to date including: Camille Chapeliere (France), Former French Sand Race Champion; Yentel Martens (Belgium) Former MXGP rider and son of FIM Motocross 500cc World Champion Jacky; Enzo Levrault (France), 2018 Enduropale du Touquet winner; Arnaud Besnier, Sebastien Antony, Julien Regent, Kevin Parpaix from France and Fernando Pedro Rubio from Argentina.

Whilst the quad class already boasts entries from: Keveen Rochereau (France), Former French Quad Racing Champion; Axel Dutrie (France),Dakar stage winner; Thierry Vigier and Sebert Benoit (France).

The north coast of France plays host to the opening round with the world-famous Enduropale du Touquet on 3-5 February. Easily the biggest beach race in Europe with upwards of two thousand plus competitors, the event deservedly has earned its status as the original and the best and this year celebrates its forty-seventh running.

The next round will see competitors travel to the other side of the world for Argentina’s Enduro del Verano – regarded as the premier event of its kind in Latin America – on 24-26 February where an over one thousand strong entry is expected. Entries for this will close on 1 February.

The 2023 FIM Sand Races World Cup will sign off on an undecided date in December on Monte Gordo Beach in Portugal’s beautiful Algarve region.

Jean-François Wulvérick, the FIM Cross-Country Commission Director, said: “The launch of the FIM Sand Races World Cup marks the start of a new competition. With all the stake holders, we look forward to building and developing together the competition on sand which is very popular with riders, teams, manufacturers and the public. We are going to optimise the sporting and technical rules to make it evolve at the World Championship level in the future.”
