The Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM) has opened proceedings against FIM Women’s Cross Country Rallies World Cup rider Anastasiya Nifontova under the FIM Anti-doping Code following an Adverse Analytical Finding. Ms Nifontova has been informed that she is provisionally suspended by the FIM.
The decision to provisionally suspend Ms Nifontova was mandatory following the receipt of a report from the WADA accredited laboratory in Cologne indicating an Adverse Analytical Finding of Meldonium, a non-specified substance under Section 4 (Hormone and Metabolic Modulators) of the 2016 FIM Prohibited List, in a urine sample collected from her at an in-competition test carried out by the FIM in Agadir on 3 October 2016 at the round of the 2016 FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship held in Morocco.
Under Article 7.9.3.2 of the FIM Anti-doping Code, Ms Nifontova may request lifting of her provisional suspension.
Ms Nifontova has the right to request and attend the analysis of her B sample.
Under the World Anti-Doping Code and the FIM Anti-Doping Code, the FIM is unable to provide any additional information at this time.
