Renet aims for ISDE clean sweep

France’s Pierre-Alexandre Renet – Husqvarna heads into the final day of the 2014 FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in San Juan, Argentina having led the individual honours since the opening day last Monday. In addition to leading his nation towards victory, with the French World Trophy team now over ten minutes in front of the USA, Renet is on course to complete the perfect week if he too can maintain his near one-minute advantage later today. At the end of day one it was his French compatriot Christophe Nambotin – KTM who was Renet’s nearest challenger, finishing just one and half seconds behind the Husqvarna rider. Whilst that gap was to increase to over half a minute by the close of the second day it was still Nambotin who was Pierre-Alexandre’s nearest threat. The ultra tough third day saw a change in the order as Australia’s Toby Price – KTM moved into the runner-up spot, albeit more than a minute adrift of the on going leader Renet. A more cautious approach on day four saw Price slightly close in on Renet, as the French rider ensured a safe passage in order to protect the position of the French World Trophy team at the head of the overall standings. Yesterday, day five, the penultimate day of the 2014 ISDE saw Renet claw back a couple of seconds on Price to head into today’s final motocross with a comfortable lead and every chance of completing an incredible sweep both for him and his nation.
