The FIM is saddened by the recent passing of Lincoln Miranda Duarte, the former President of the Confederaçao Brasileira de Motociclismo (CBM) from 1995 to 2007.
In addition to his three terms as President of the CBM, Lincoln also served as the President of the Motorcycling Federation of the State of Minas Gerais, President of the Latin American Motorcycling Union and President of the Motocross Commission of the Latin American Motorcycling Union.
He was also a long-standing part of the FIM family, having been a member of the Motocross Commission from 1998 to 2002, President of FIM Latin America (ULM) and FIM Board Member from 2003 to 2006.
Furthermore, Mr Duarte played an instrumental role in bringing several MXGP events to Brazil, which were organised in partnership with Romagnolli Eventos and was a true icon of two-wheel sport in his home country.
On behalf of FIM President Jorge Viegas, we extend our deepest condolences to Lincoln’s family, his many friends and the CBM, he will be sorely missed by the entire FIM Family.
