Puig joins FIM Quality Product programme

With an illustrious history stretching all the way back to 1964, Spanish manufacturer Puig has joined the FIM Quality Product (FQP) label programme with its engine cover line, which provides an internationally recognised seal of approval for products and services both on and off the track.

Founded by brothers Josep and Jaume Puig over six decades ago in the garage of their family home in Granollers, near the Catalan capital of Barcelona, Puig initially made its reputation crafting motorcycle fairings before expanding its range of after-market parts to become a global leader in this highly-competitive field with warehouses in the USA and Germany, exports to sixty-four countries and a dealer network covering six continents.

With its early adoption of high-tech solutions including blow-moulding and thermoforming as part of the manufacturing process, the Puig success story continued both on and off the track as the business grew and riders including James Toseland in the FIM Superbike World Championship and Marc Márquez in MotoGP won world titles using its products.

As well as manufacturing market-leading windshields and fairings, Puig also produces an extensive range of cutting-edge products that have been developed and designed to protect motorcycles while at the same time improving performance.

Only awarded following an involved and in-depth assessment process conducted by the FIM International Technical Commission (CTI), the FQP label will apply to an extensive range of twenty-eight engine covers produced by Puig.

Juan Puig, Puig Chief Executive Officer, said: “Becoming part of the FIM Quality Product Program is an important milestone for Puig. This partnership reflects our long-standing commitment to safety, quality, and technical excellence in motorcycle accessories. Having our engine protection covers recognised by the FIM reinforces our mission to offer riders products they can trust, both on the road and on the track.”

Fabio Muner, FIM Marketing and Digital Director, said: “On behalf of the FIM I would like to welcome Puig to the FIM Quality Product programme. Puig’s long history of innovation and excellence is well-documented and its engine covers are fully-deserving of the FQP seal of approval. I am sure that this new partnership will prove to be mutually beneficial, presenting many marketing opportunities for all concerned parties.”
