Prado writes his name onto the prestigious MXGP champions trophy

The MXGP of Great Britain hosted the final round of the 2023 MXGP Championship which saw the newly crowned World Champion Jorge Prado being presented with the remarkable MXGP Trophy by Infront Moto Racing CEO David Luongo during the podium ceremony.

The MXGP Trophy was introduced in 2020, marking the inception of a new tradition within the FIM Motocross World Championship. This prestigious trophy stands as a tribute to the past, present, and future champions of the premier MXGP class.

Red Bull GASGAS Factory Racing’s Jorge Prado now engraves his name onto the revered MXGP Champions Trophy for the very first time. His remarkable year unfolded with the acquisition of the Red Plate from the very first race, to never surrender it. Prado's extraordinary season also included 14 Race victories, 11 RAM Qualifying Race wins, 2 Grand Prix triumphs, 16 podium finishes, and an astounding 219 laps led, showcasing unwavering consistency.

Back in 2020, Team HRC's Tim Gajser became the inaugural recipient of this coveted cup as he clinched his fourth world title. In 2021, the trophy changed hands, finding a new home with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Jeffrey Herlings, who secured his fifth Motocross World Title. Then in 2022, Gajser once again dominated the MXGP scene, earning his fifth MXGP World Title with an impressive tally of 10 Grand Prix victories.
