Poland will decide Womens' Vice World Champion

Whilst Laia Sanz - Repsol Montesa may have already wrapped up the 2010 FIM Women's Trial World Championship, there will still be much to play for at the third and final round of the series in Myslenice, Poland this Friday. The ladies event will take place ahead of two days of team action with the same venue also hosting the FIM Trial des Nations competition.

Sanz will be out to make it a clean sweep and to maintain her 100% record in this year's series, but the real fight this weekend will be between the girls who currently occupy positions two to six in the general standings after two rounds of tight competition. At the moment eighteen-year old Joanne Coles - Gas Gas sits in second place in the points table just two points ahead of her British compatriot Rebekah Cook - Sherco.

All season long these friends and rivals have enjoyed a close and interesting battle at domestic, European and World level. Whilst Cook is by far the more experienced of the two riders and has already finished as Vice World Champion to Sanz during the last two years, it is Coles who has been the story of the 2010 campaign. Last time out in the Czech Republic Cook had the upper hand, as she nearly took her first ever GP win. It is sure to be another tense and tight duel between these two girls on Friday, who the very next day will forget their individual pursuits to join forces for Team Great Britain as they look to defend their team title.

Slightly further down the order, a mere six points separates the next three female riders in the general standings with yet another British girl Emma Bristow - Gas Gas, who will join Coles and Cook in the British squad, currently sitting in fourth place in the championship. Bristow who achieved her first ever podium finish at this year's opening Grand Prix will have to contend with another young and emerging rider in the form of Sandra Gomez - Gas Gas who recorded a career best fourth place in the Czech Republic.

Whilst Gomez will be focussed on making sure she finishes ahead of Bristow, she herself is sure to come under pressure from Rosita Leotta - Gas Gas, with the experienced German rider sitting just three points behind the seventeen-year old Spanish protagonist. To date Leotta has finished fifth and seventh respectively in the opening two rounds of this year's series and will be looking to have left her best performance to last if she is to leapfrog her way up the final order.

A total of thirty-six female riders will contest the third and final round of the 2010 FIM Women's Trial World Championship this coming Friday, with representatives from ten different nations from as far afield as America and Australia looking to make their mark on this growing series.
