FIM World Motocross MX1 champion David Philippaerts secured the overall victory at the Italian championship round at Montevarchi to give a good indicator that he will be a force in the world title race again this season.
Philippaerts won the opening race and finished third second time out as his Yamaha Monster Energy team-mate Josh Coppins won race two after failing to finish first time out.
In the overall results Philippaerts was first ahead of Yamaha Red Bull De Carli team-mates Tanel Leok and Antonio Cairoli.
