Peace hoping for home round glory

Britain’s sixteen-year-old Jack Peace – Gas Gas became the winner of the 2016 FIM Trial125 World Cup following his victory at the Belgium GP yesterday. With four counting days remaining, two at his home round in Great Britain this coming weekend and two more at the final Grand Prix in Italy in September, Peace can now not be overhauled in the general standings with the title being decided having allowed for the four worst results to be disregarded.

With this in mind Jack can hopefully head to his home round in a relaxed mood and with his sights set on even more glory in front of the many British fans who are sure to turn out to support their newest winner of an FIM Trial World title.

Speaking after being crowned yesterday afternoon in Belgium the quietly spoken teenager said. “It feels good to have taken the title here and to be going to Tong next weekend as champion. I hope I can add two more wins to my total in the Trial125 before I then move up to Trial2 for the final round in Italy. I haven’t had the time on a bigger capacity bike yet so it makes no sense to ride in Trial2 in England. At least I will have a month to adapt to a 250 or 300 before I ride in the Italian event.”

In addition to carrying the hopes of his home nation on his tender young shoulders this weekend, all eyes will be on Jack in Italy as he goes head-to-head with his older brother Dan who is already an established challenger in the Trial2 class.
