Paivarinta and Hanni storm to Victory


Once again the teams woke to bright sunshine, and the final race of the 2011 season was only hours away.

As the race got under way it was Kurt Hock and Enrico Becker  on their Hock Racing, LCR Suzuki who got the whole shot into the first corner followed by Pekka Paivarinta and Adolf Hanni, Team Suzuki Finland LCR Suzuki then the Birchall Brothers Ben and Tom on their Mitchells of Mansfield, LCR Yamaha.  As the race settled down it was Paivarinta and Hanni who took the lead from Hock and Becker followed by the Birchall Brothers this was to stay till the flag came out, and the final championship positions would be the same as the race podium.  On lap eight Milan Spendal and Peter Hill entered pit lane on their AMD Kranj, LCR Suzuki with brake problems, they were to rejoin the race but did not complete enough laps for a result.  On lap twelve Philippe Gallerne and Alexandre Schreiber on their Gallerne 6 Avenue, RCN Suzuki, spun of the track when they tried to restart their clutch had gone.  A great result for Philippe Le Bail and Christian Chaigneau, Team TERCA, Auto Moto Suzuki who came over the line in fourth just beating Sebastien Delannoy and Sebastien Lavorel Team Sand Seb 72, LCR Suzuki.  Sixth place went to Michael Grabmuller and Jonathan Huet, Delta Racing, LCR Kawasaki they had a great race with Bennie Streuer and Kees Endeveld, Team Streuer, LCR Suzuki who crossed the line in seventh place. Once again Jakob Rutz and Ueli Wafler, Sidecar-Racing-Team Rutz, LCR Yamaha had a trouble free race and came over the line in eighth. Another positive result for Gary and Daniel Knight, Redline-RSR, Suzuki finishing ninth in witch was a development year for their RSR Suzuki and are pleased with the way the season went for them.  Crossing the line in tenth place was Jean-Louis Hergott and Stephane Josse, France oust Racing Team, RSR BMW.

So the 2011 FIM Sidecar World Championship with it’s up and downs draws to a close and all the teams going home to a well earned rest, and hoping to get ready for 2012.
