New Title Partner announced

With now only days to go before the start of the 2016 Astana Expo FIM Ice Speedway Gladiators World Championship, the FIM is delighted to announce a new title partner for the next two years ahead of the tapes being raised on the new season.

The FIM and Astana Expo 2017 have signed an agreement for the next two years. Astana Expo 2017 is the company responsible for the organisation of Expo 2017 in Astana, Kazakhstan. In 2016, the second round of the individual championship will be held in the capital Almaty on 20 and 21 February.

It is an event that will put Kazakhstan in the international spotlight throughout the whole of 2017. The EXPO will run from 10 June to 20 September 2017, during which time Kazakhstan will host delegations from over 100 countries, strengthening diplomatic relations, promoting discussions on international trade and commerce and hosting debates on key global topics.

By creating a platform to showcase cutting edge technologies that could provide solutions to energy issues, the EXPO, will establish Kazakhstan as a global leader on the challenge of future energies and serve as a catalyst for Kazakhstan's transition to a "green" economy. EXPO-2017 will also have a multiplier effect by increasing foreign investment, international trade and tourism.
