Along with a bold new championship logo and brand guidelines, a number of changes to the Sporting Regulations have been made, including the creation of an FIM Team Trophy title for competitors in the Moto and Quad classes, designed to reward participating teams that hold an FIM Team Licence.
All rounds of the championship will now be run under the ‘Endurance’ format that features either one long race or two shorter ones as opposed to the ‘Sand Cross’ format – featuring Qualifying and Finals – which was previously an option. This change is intended to harmonise the championship by ensuring all events are run under the same format.
Registrations for the 2026-2027 FIM Sand Races World Championship will open shortly, and the 2026-2027 FIM Sand Races World Championship Sporting Regulations and 2026 Sand Races Technical Regulations are now available.
