<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />Seventeen year old German female rider Michelle Neukirchen – Gas Gas will have her boyfriend Franz Kadlec – Beta in her corner when she competes in the opening round of the 2014 FIM Women’s Trial World Champion in Belgium today.
Kadlec, who currently sits second overall in the 2014 FIM Trial World Cup, is also competing at the same venue in his own class today. It was the sport of Trial that brought this young couple together as Michelle explains.
“My father is a Trial rider and I have ridden since I was three years old. Although I live four hundred kilometres away from Franz it is through the German championship that we met.”
“Now Franz and I are riding together, training together and in the German championship he is my minder so I have a good teacher. My goal this weekend is to be inside the top ten, but that will be tough.”
“I will be eighteen next month and really love Trial. My favourite riders are Emma Bristow in the Women’s, Adam Raga in the World Pro and obviously Franz in the World Cup class,” said Neukirchen.
Michelle rode her first Trial GP aged fifteen back in 2011, when she placed twenty-sixth.
