Cortelha in Portugal will have the pleasure to open the FIM MX3 Motocross World Championship season this weekend. Thanks to the local organizer Amigos Cortelha, the place Cortelha in Southern Portugal is already well known place in motocross World with the great organized events from previous years. This year they again put a lot of effort to make a new unforgettable event for the successful beginning of the season 2010.
Already at the first event some big names will take part of the Championship. Husqvarna Factory rider Alex Salvini (Cross2R) missed the World Championship Title last year for a trifle and this season he wants to take it to Italy. Spanish rider Carlos Campano will be hard competitor for him. Matevz Irt (Tecno B) from Slovenia changed to Husqvarna after a very successful season that he made last year, when he finished sixth overall. Czech rider Martin Zerava (UFO Racing) came back after the injury. Antti Pyrhonen from Finland, the third rider of the 2009 MX3 World Championship does not have this luck. After the bad leg injury, he is still not ready to start the season. This season he will have another important member of the team, Alejandro Noemi Boellert from Chile. Boellert will not be the only rider from South America who will compete in the MX3 World Championship. Victor Dario Arco from Argentina came to Europe to take part of this Championship, which will also take place in his home country at the beginning of May. Portugal will have some riders who will attract the public; leader of the home Championship Luis Correia is a favourite and Hugo Basaula, who made good results in the last MX3 season.
