MX3 and WMX reach their final destination

This weekend in Šenkvice, Slovakia, the final round of the FIM MX3 and WMX World Championship’s will take place. In the MX3 there is still a lot to play for, as UFO Racing MX Team’s Klemen Gercar carries the red plate with only a thirteen point lead over the current vice champion RSC BUKSA / Ados team’s Martin Michek. Meanwhile in the WMX, all bets will be on Monster Energy Yamaha’s Chiara Fontanesi as she enters this sixth and final round with a forty-three point advantage over HM Plant KTM UK’s Natalie Kane.

It’s obvious, after finishing second last year Czech Martin Michek will be eager for more, but it is certain the RSC BUSKA / Ados Team rider will have his work cut out for him as he tries to cut down the thirteen point lead of Slovenian Klemen Gercar especially since Klemen Gercar has been proving he is capable of consistency in the most recent rounds. Occupying third, after a season riddled with bad luck, the defending champion Hillinger KTM MX Racing Team’s Matthias Walkner will enter this round twenty-eight points behind Martin Michek in second.

In th WMX, Monster Energy Yamaha’s Chiara Fontanesi has been a dominant force all year, winning all (but one) races. The Italian wonder lady only has to finish sixteenth or better in race one to wrap up the championship while the battle for second between HM Plant KTM UK’s Natalie Kane and Bud Racing Kawasaki’s Meghan Rutledge is tighter than ever. Only three points separate the duo Kane and Rutledge, both riders proven to be capable winning. With Rutledge’s string of qualifying heat wins and Kane being the only rider to defeat Fontanesi, the battle is on and is sure to be a must see.
