Following on from the initial actions agreed upon earlier this year to launch the Women in Motorcycling in Arabic Countries Campaign as part of the International Women´s Day 2022 theme #BreakTheBias, today the FIM and supporting national federations have signed an important declaration titled: The Amman Declaration on Women in Motorcycling.
The declaration provides a commitment from all parties to do their utmost in terms of the following main action points:

The Founders of the Amman Declaration - Amani Ammoura from the Jordan Lady Riders Committee; Bater Kardan from Jordan Motorsports Motorcycle Commission; Nita Korhonen, the FIM Women in Motorcycling Commission Director and Jorge Viegas, the FIM President, would like to thank all the presidents of the National Federations who joined the Women in Motorcycling in Arabic Countries project and signed the Amman declaration – they are as follows: Abdullah bin Isa Al-Khalifa, President of Bahrain Motor Federation - Bahrain Motorcycle Commission; Raed Majeed Ameen, President of Iraq Club for Cars and Motorcycles; Ali Hassan Dagher, President of Lebanese Motorcycles Club; Abdulrahman Al Mannai, President of Qatar Motor and Motorcycle Federation and H.R.H Prince Khalid Sultan Abdullah Al Faisal, President of Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation.

Proud to witness this historic signing FIM Women in Motorcycling Commission Director Nita Korhonen explained: "With this declaration we wanted to make sure that the project we organised this year was not only a one-time event, but that there is continuity with further actions. All the countries that have signed the declaration have committed to raise awareness and as much as possible to improve the situation of women in motorcycling in their countries in the future. Everyone involved is looking forward to the ongoing co-operation between the Arabic countries on this important topic."
