Middleditch backs Andersen's GP bid

Neil Middleditch has thrown his weight behind Hans Andersen's push for a place in the 2010 FIM Speedway World Championship Grand Prix Series.

Middleditch, a former Great Britain team manager, was Andersen's boss this season at Elite League club Poole, where the Dane rode on loan.

Ex-British U21 champion Middleditch said: "He's a great asset to the GP. He always gives 100% and he would be sadly missed if he wasn't in it."

Peterborough asset Andersen missed out on automatic selection for next year's series by finishing outside the top eight in the 2009 championship.

The Odense-born 28-year-old was 10th with a tally of 91 points.

But Andersen, who also rides in the Swedish, Polish and Danish leagues, is hoping to be made a permanent wildcard by the series organisers.
