Marc Marquez has qualified on pole position for the fourth time in Brno since he stepped up to the premier class in 2013.
• This is the 58th pole position for Marc Marquez on what is his 118th start in the premier class (49.1%), equalling the record of 58 premier class poles held by Mick Doohan. In addition, this is his 86th pole position of his Grand Prix career (43.8%).
• If Marc Marquez wins the race at Brno, he will become the fourth rider to reach the milestone of 50 premier class wins along with Valen- tino Rossi (89 wins), Giacomo Agostini (68) and Mick Doohan (54).
• Jack Miller has qualified in second as both the highest-placed Ducati and Independent Team rider. This is Miller’s best qualifying result since Misano last year, when he also qualified in second place.
• Johann Zarco, who moved from Q1 to Q2 for the first time since he joined KTM this year, has qualified in third place, which is his best qualifying result since he was the second-fastest qualifier in Malaysia last year (although he started from pole position.)
• With Johann Zarco in third, this is the best qualifying result for a KTM rider in the MotoGPTM class, beating the fifth place set by Pol Es- pargaro earlier this year in Austin, and therefore also the first front row for the Austrian factory.
• Andrea Dovizioso, who won the race in Brno last year, heads the second row on the grid, which is his best qualifying performance since he was fourth also in France earlier this year.
Pol Espargaro has qualified in fifth place, equalling his best qualifying result with KTM set in Austin this season.
• With Pol Espargaro, this is the first time there have been two KTM riders in Q2 since the Australian GP last year when it was Pol Espar- garo and Bradley Smith. It's also the first time there have been two KTM riders within the front two rows of the grid in the premier class.
MotoGP
