Lyon to host inaugural FIM Medical Summit

The first-ever FIM Medical Summit will be held on Sunday 18 February and take place during the 2024 FIM Commissions Conference in Lyon, France.

This inaugural FIM Medical Summit is designed as an opportunity for experienced doctors to meet and share experiences and best practices while also being informed by experts on subjects as important and diverse as concussion protocol and airbag vest technology.

The summit is mandatory for FIM MotoGPTM and FIM Superbike World Championship Chief Medical Officers (CMOs) and Commission Members, but is also open to all CMOs and promoters. At present more than a hundred participants are registered to attend from various different disciplines.

The focus will be on advanced and specialised topics with practical, real-world examples to help ensure continuous learning, development and networking in this hugely important sphere that is a key pillar of safety within motorcycle sport.

For the inaugural FIM Medical Summit, the FIM Academy has collaborated with the FIM International Medical Commission (CMI) for the organisation of the event, and will publish extracts of the presented content on its learning platform, which will be shared with all the national federations in order to support and promote best practices.
