The seventh round of the world championship was held at Belgium’s new Bastogne track. Heavy rain on Saturday forced the organisers to cancel the qualifying round, and for Sunday’s race riders set off from the starting gate according to their times obtained in qualifying. Lupino, with the twelfth fastest time, got away quickly from the starting gate, but on the first curve got held up among a cluster of other riders and was forced to fight back to regain positions. The rider of the Husqvarna Motocross Team By Ricci Racing aboard his TC250 showed himself to be on top physical form coming from behind late in the second programmed race. With this finish Lupino consolidates his eighth overall position in the championship standings. Unluckily, Loic Larrieu finished just outside the points in the second race.
