On Saturday, 8 September, the Morizès Moto Club will host the FIM Long Track World Championship Final 5.
The village of Morizès with some 600 inhabitants is located south of Bordeaux in south west France.
After a break of almost two months, the riders will find themselves on a 520m track that is very fast and quite technical. It is a track they know well as Morizès Moto Club has been organising events like this for many years.
The 2011 meeting delighted local fans as the two riders licensed to the Morizès Motorcycle Club, Stéphane Tresarrieu and Theo Pijper, finished 1st and 2nd. The German rider Stephan Katt made up the podium.
This year, leader Joonas Kylmakorpi will be trying to widen the gap between him and his nearest pursuer Theo Pijper before the last final in Vechta (Germany) the following week.
We can expect a thrilling end of season with the rise of Josef Franc, more threatening with every final, Martin Smolinksi who is always fast on this kind of track, and the local riders who will want to do well in front of their audience.
The Wild Card spot was awarded to Philippe Ostyn and the reserve are Richard De Biasi and Mathieu Albertini.
Substitute riders Gabriel Dubernard and Theo Di Palma will complete the list of entries for the last two finals, as Richard Howe and David Speiser are still injured and will be out until the end of the season.
