Kuroyama makes a successful return

Thirty six year Kenichi Kuroyama – Yamaha made his annual one off return to the FIM Trial World Championship with some success as he placed eighth and tenth respectively over the two days of the Japanese Grand Prix. The eleven times national Japanese champion retired from the series proper back at the end of 2005, but since then has received a warm welcomed back to the Trial family each time the championship has visited the land of the rising sun over the last decade.

Kuroyama made his debut in the FIM Trial World Championship in Luxembourg in 1995 and since then has went on to ride in a total of one hundred and eighty seven GP’s. During the height of his career he reached his highest ranking of third place overall in the series in 1997 and claimed twenty-five podium finishes plus four Grand Prix victories over an eight year period.

Nowadays the four-stroke mounted Kuroyama concentrates on riding purely his national series which he last captured in 2012 and won nine years on the bounce up until that point.
Whilst his compatriot Tomoyuki Ogawa is now the holder of the national title in Japan, Kenichi will have taken great pride in topping his arch-rival on the World stage on day one of their home GP.
