Ken Roczen arrives in Estoril ready for the FIM Gala

Seventeen-year old 2011 FIM MX 2 World Champion Ken Roczen is one of the first guests to arrive in Estoril, Portugal ready for tomorrow's FIM Gala. The young German rider was in a relaxed mood as he spent the morning taking in the local sights before heading off to enjoy the afternoon in Lisbon. Ken will be one of the youngest FIM World Champions amongst the many who will be honoured during tomorrow evening's ceremony that will be broadcast live on both Motors TV and SPORTS TV Portugal to a global audience. The event will also be available to view live on FIM-TV.COM.

Roczen spoke enthusiastically about being in Portugal and about being a part of this unique event. "This is my first time in the Gala so I am really excited to be here and to know how the schedule is going to be for tomorrow night. The hotel is awesome and we have some great weather at the moment, so it is good to be here and to have the chance to check out Lisbon this afternoon."

"It will be good to have the chance to meet the other riders especially from the other categories and sports. It is also nice to have the chance to wear some smart clothes, I will not wear the normal dark smoking suit, instead I have a white jacket, mixed with some jeans and some nice shoes which should look nice and keep me looking like a sportsman at least."

"The FIM Gala is a great idea and I am just pleased to be here."

Roczen will head back to his native Germany after the FIM Gala to enjoy a party with family, friends and sponsors to celebrate his FIM World title before heading off to the USA in mid December to prepare for the new supercross season.
