Katja Poensgen: first ride on electric powered motorcycle!

One of the very few 'lady' racers,  in 2003 and 2004 active as 250 GP rider, Katja Poensgen, now in her new career as ambassador for women in motorcycling and co-presentator of the popular German TV show 'BIKE - Polo Motorrad Magazin',  was present with the German Sport 1 TV crew to film the first competitiors in the FIM e Power race in Schleiz (14 Mai).  Katja donned her leathers and helmet to test the new  Munch TTE motorcycle.

Katja said after her outing:  "To ride the Munch TTE, an electric powered racing motorcycle, was a great experience and you will agree when you have ridden one. There is no noise when its already running and all what the bike wants to do is to go forwards.  After 2 laps to familiarize myself it started to become fun and it felt like I was in control.  The Team Coordinator,  Mr Ralf Ernst told me to do only two laps because the battery was not completely charged but I did not capture what he had said, my mind completely focused  on riding. On lap 7,  about 1.5km away from the paddock the accu was empty and I had to push the machine back to pitlane. But even with this ending I will always keep a good memory of my first ride with an electric bike!''.

The BIKE - Polo Motorrad Magazin will be shown on the German channel  'Sport 1', on 8 June.
