Karlsson – JTG will make a much welcomed return to the FIM Trial World Championship today after having skipped the opening two overseas rounds of the 2013 series. The eighteen year old Scandinavian rider was cruelly ruled out of the early part of last season due to injury, but bounced back to record two points scoring rides at the final round of the 2012 campaign to claim fourteenth place in the overall rankings.
Karlsson has used his off-season break to maximum effect and also took the opportunity to switch bikes to JTG under the watchful eye of ex multi FIM Trial World Champion Jordi Tarres. A week’s worth of training in Spain with Tarres’ guidance has put the young Swede in good shape for this return to the series, here at the Grand Prix of Andorra, as he explained. “I feel fully fit and I am very happy with the bike. It looks like its going to be a tough first GP back for me, but I hope that I can finish in the top ten if all goes well. My overall goal for the year is to ride all the remaining GP’s and to try to achieve a top ten ranking come the close of the season.”
Unfortunately a technical problem ruled Eddie out of day one after just a few sections, but with his machine now fixed he hopes day two will bring him better luck.
