Jorge Viegas candidate for FIM President

In a letter to the National Federations affiliated to the FIM, Mr Jorge Viegas has announced his candidature for FIM President in 2014.

Dear Friends,

“For a stronger FIM, the National Federations must have a stronger role!”

This will be the central message of my candidature to the Presidency of the FIM.

As you know, I have been Deputy-President for the past four years, working at the same time as chairman of the Finances and the Affiliation Committees, participating also in the Strategic Plan and in the Human Resources Committees.

I am announcing now that I will be a candidate for President because I prefer to be clear in my intentions and avoid all misunderstandings. With your support I want to be the next FIM President because I know I am prepared and I can do a good job in bringing back the FIM to the level it deserves, with the effective contribution of all of the “family” – Continental Unions, National Federations, Commissions members and Administration.

I also intend to increase the dialogue and cooperation with the Promoters in a way that will benefit all.

My candidature is not against other possible candidates.

Together with the people that support my candidature and my own ideas, I am confident to be able to win the election in Jerez de la Frontera on 22 November.

My program, ideas and projects will be presented during the Motocross of the Nations, in the end of September, where a press conference will be organized.

Meanwhile, I wish you all a great summer holidays!

Jorge Viegas
