It’s not over till it’s over …

Turbulent end to the 2012 FIM Long-Track World Championship season.

After German rider Bernd Diener, it is the turn of France’s Jerôme Lespinasse to withdraw from finals 5 and 6 in Morizès and Vechta. The French rider crashed last Sunday with Diener in Berghaupten, Germany. Returning to France midweek, he was confronted with the verdict: fractured sixth and seventh vertebrae, six weeks out of action. In Morizès, German rider Herbert Rudolph will be wearing the No 25 race jacket. The 37-year old German is already quite well known on the international circuits as he has taken part in the FIM Long-Track World Championship many times. Some of you may recall that he dropped out with an ankle injury in the 2011 Challenge in St Colomb de Lauzun (FR) after just the first heat. He also rode regularly in the European Championship for a number of years, but never quite fulfilled his ambitions. No more serious contender for the ultimate final this Saturday night at Morizès ...
