ISDE newcomer Charlier fastest in Enduro 2

Of all the ways to mark your first ever day of ISDE competition, topping the Enduro 2 class results has to be up there with the best of them. France’s World Trophy team rider Christophe Charlier - Husqvarna might be lacking ISDE experience, but he certainly wasn’t lacking speed on day one of the event in Brive.

Standing in for the injured Mathias Bellino, Charlier placed fifth overall on day one, topping the Enduro 2 class by five seconds. “It was a long day, very different to what I have been used to this year in the World championship,” commented the Frenchman. “I’m not so used to riding on grass special tests, so I was a little cautious early today. But things went well apart from falls on the first two special tests.”

Representing France in his first ISDE, Charlier is hopeful of finishing the week just as he has started it. “I’ve tried not to think about being a part of the French team before the start. I know how important it is to do well here – representing my country for the first time at the ISDE is very special, to be doing that in France makes it even more special. I am part of a great team and I know we can do well.”
